Our Goals

The post-1945 security order is not under stress: it is disintegrating. Nuclear risk, climate collapse, AI governance, pandemic failure, and democratic erosion are not separate crises. They are interconnected symptoms of the same governance failure, and they are accelerating. No existing institution is designed to address them as a system. Women Transforming Global Security (WTGS) is building the framework that will. Created at the invitation of Mary Robinson (former President of Ireland; UN High Commissioner for Human Rights) and Helen Clark (three-time Prime Minister of New Zealand), WTGS brings together the world’s most consequential women experts across sectors to do something unprecedented: to reconceive security itself. This is not a program. It is a paradigm shift.

What does success look like?

We will know we are winning when the security discourse shifts, and governments, multilateral institutions, and civil society are working from a common premise: that security is inseparable from human and planetary wellbeing, and that the threats likely to determine our collective future cannot be resolved in isolation from each other.
